I am writing to apply for the post of Job Title at Company Name, which I saw on your careers page. I recently completed my graduation in Degree from College Name, and I am keen to start my career with a team that values careful, honest work.
During my final year, I completed a project on project topic. I collected data, built simple reports in a spreadsheet and presented the results to a panel of faculty members. I also did six weeks of summer training at a local firm, where I saw how a real office handles deadlines, customer calls and daily reporting. Both experiences taught me to ask questions early, check my own work and finish what I start.
I am comfortable with skill 1 and skill 2, and I pick up new software quickly. As class representative for two years, I coordinated with teachers, shared notices with sixty students and settled small disagreements calmly. This has prepared me to work with different kinds of people and keep things organised.
I know a fresher has a lot to learn, and I am ready to put in the effort. I would be grateful for a chance to meet you and show how I can contribute to Company Name from my first month. My resume is enclosed, and I can attend an interview on any day that suits you.
Thank you for considering my application.

I have also trained four new joiners, and three of them now handle client work on their own.
I understand that Company Name is expanding into new area or city. I have handled a similar expansion before, from hiring the first team members to setting targets and tracking results every week. I know the problems that come up in the first few months, and I know how to keep a team steady while the workload grows.
My main strengths are skill 1, skill 2 and clear communication with both seniors and juniors. I am now looking for a position with wider responsibility, and this one offers exactly that. My notice period is number of days days, as per my current employment contract.
My resume with full details of my work is enclosed. I would welcome the chance to discuss how my experience fits your needs. Thank you for your time.

I wish to apply for the post of Job Title at School Name, as advertised in Newspaper Name on advertisement date. I hold a Degree in Subject along with a B.Ed. degree, and I have taught classes taught for number of years years.
At my present school, I teach Subject to about number students across four sections. Each lesson I plan has a short activity, a clear explanation and a quick check of understanding at the end. Last session, my students did noticeably better in the pre-board tests, and more of them chose Subject as an elective in the senior classes.
I believe a teacher's work does not end at the classroom door. I have run the school quiz club, prepared students for inter school competitions and conducted parent teacher meetings for my section. I also use simple digital tools, such as slides and online quizzes, to keep students interested and to track who needs extra help.
I am drawn to School Name because of its focus on activity based learning and the attention it gives to each child. I would be happy to take remedial classes for students who are falling behind and to support the school's cultural and sports programmes.
I have enclosed my resume, copies of my certificates and a recent photograph. I would be glad to take a demo class at your convenience. Thank you for considering my application.

I am applying for the post of Job Title at Company Name. For the past number of years years I have worked as a Designation in old field. I am now moving into new field, a change I have prepared for carefully over the last year.
To build the right skills, I completed a course in course name and finished number practice projects, including project example. On weekends for six months, I also helped a small local business with related task, which gave me real experience with clients, feedback and deadlines in my new field.
My earlier career gives me strengths that many new entrants do not have. I have dealt with unhappy customers, worked to monthly targets and written clear reports for senior staff. In new field, these skills matter as much as the technical work, and I can use them from my first day.
I understand that I may need to start at a level below my present one, and I am comfortable with that. What matters to me is a role where I can learn properly and grow over time, and Company Name has a good name for training its people.
My resume, course certificate and a short portfolio of my projects are enclosed. I would be glad to explain my reasons for this change in person. Thank you for considering my application.

What Is a Cover Letter and How to Write One
A cover letter, also called a covering letter, is a short letter sent with your resume or CV. The resume lists facts. The cover letter explains why those facts make you right for this one job. Many recruiters read it first to decide whether to open the resume.
- Read the job advertisement twice. Note the three or four skills it asks for most.
- Open with the post. Name the job title in the first line, so the reader knows why you are writing.
- Give proof, not adjectives. "Trained four new joiners" says more than "I am a team player".
- Show you know the company. One line about its work or plans is enough.
- Keep it between 200 and 320 words. Three to five short paragraphs fit on one page.
- End with a clear next step. Say you are available for an interview and give your phone number.
After you get an offer, you may need a joining letter. For other office formats, see formal letter.
Tips for Writing a Cover Letter for Job Application
- Write a new cover letter for each job. Change at least the opening line, the company name and one paragraph about why you want to work there.
- Use the hiring manager's name if the advertisement gives it. Otherwise "Dear Hiring Manager" is safe.
- Do not repeat your whole resume. Pick two or three results and explain them in full sentences.
- Freshers can use college projects, internships, training and class or club responsibilities as their experience.
- For an email application, write the cover letter in the email body and attach the resume as a PDF with your name in the file name.
- Check spellings of the company name and job title twice. A small mistake there is easy to notice.
- Never mention a current salary figure unless the advertisement asks for it, and then give it only in the application form.
Questions people ask
What is a cover letter for a resume?
It is a short letter that goes with your resume when you apply for a job. It names the job you want, gives a few reasons you suit it, and asks for an interview. It is usually 200 to 320 words.
Is a covering letter the same as a cover letter?
Yes. "Covering letter" is the older term used in many Indian offices and government forms. Both mean a letter sent with your resume or application documents.
Do freshers need a cover letter?
Yes, it helps freshers even more, because their resume is short. A cover letter lets them talk about projects, training and interest in the company, which a resume cannot show well.
How long should a cover letter be?
Keep it to one page, about 200 to 320 words in three to five paragraphs. A short cover letter of around 200 words is fine for online forms and email applications.
Should I write "Yours sincerely" or "Yours faithfully"?
Use "Yours sincerely" when you address the reader by name or as Hiring Manager. Use "Yours faithfully" when you start with "Sir/Madam", which is common for schools and government offices.
